How it works
Edoclav Forte Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Edoclav Forte Dry Syrup?
It's essential to inform your child's doctor about any other medications they're taking before starting Edoclav Forte Dry Syrup. Additionally, consult with their doctor before administering any other medicine to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Edoclav Forte Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, it's recommended that children taking antibiotics wait until they recover from their illness before receiving a vaccine.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Edoclav Forte Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
During prolonged therapy, your child's doctor may periodically monitor kidney and liver function tests to keep track of their condition.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Edoclav Forte Dry Syrup to my child?
No, administering a higher-than-recommended dose can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences increased severity of symptoms, consult their doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Edoclav Forte Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue treatment unless the full course is complete, even if your child feels better. Symptoms may improve before the infection is fully cured.
Can the use of Edoclav Forte Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Edoclav Forte Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea due to its antibiotic effects on harmful bacteria in your child's stomach. Encourage them to drink plenty of water or other fluids if they experience diarrhea. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist and dehydration signs appear.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most of the time, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Giving antibiotics for viral infections can increase the risk of side effects.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily mean that antibiotics are needed, as this can be normal during a common cold. Symptoms often last for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Seek immediate medical attention if your child experiences serious allergic reactions (breathing problems, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). These side effects are rare but require expert attention.
