Eczim Lotion is a combination of two medicines: Sulphur and Sulphacetamide which treat acne. Sulphur is a keratolytic medicine which works by removing the top layer of dead skin. Sulphacetamide is an antibiotic. It stops bacteria from producing folic acid a vitamin required for bacterial multiplication.
Eczim Lotion is used for the treatment of acne. Before you apply wash the area with any medicated facewash and water and gently dry it with a towel. Apply it to all of the areas where your acne is present and not just to each acne. Eczim Lotion may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Therefore, it is best to apply it at night and wash it off in the morning. If your skin becomes very dry using a moisturizing cream (preferably a fragrance-free and water-based cream) might help. Do not use ointments or oil-rich creams as these could clog your pores again. Continue with the treatment as long as prescribed by your doctor. The most common reason for treatment failure is giving up too soon thinking that the treatment is not working. If your skin has not improved even after completing the prescribed time inform your doctor.
Eczim Lotion usually starts working soon after application. However, it may take a few days for it to kill all harmful bacteria and provide relief.
No, do not stop applying Eczim Lotion even if you feel better. Complete the full course of treatment prescribed by your healthcare provider as directed. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
