Frequently asked questions
Can Ecocon 250mg Tablet be safely used in patients with liver cirrhosis?
Ecocon 250mg Tablet is not recommended for oral intake in patients with chronic or active liver disease. Your doctor may prescribe a liver function test to check whether the liver is functioning effectively. Inform your doctor if you have any liver disease or cirrhosis, as this medication gets metabolized by liver enzymes and any inefficiency can lead to increased levels of the medication in the blood, resulting in increased side effects and toxicity.
Does Ecocon 250mg Tablet cause skin reactions?
Yes, sensitive individuals may develop skin reactions while using Ecocon 250mg Tablet. There are rare reports of people developing serious skin/hypersensitivity reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and other severe skin reactions with Ecocon 250mg Tablet. If you encounter any type of skin reaction or rashes, stop the medication immediately and report to the doctor.
Is Ecocon 250mg Tablet effective?
Ecocon 250mg Tablet is effective as an anti-fungal medicine if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition, as stopping too early may allow the fungus to continue growing and the infection to return or worsen.
How long do I need to take Ecocon 250mg Tablet?
The usual duration of treatment for Tinea pedis (fungal infection in the foot), Tinea corporis (ringworms), and Tinea cruris (fungal infection in the groin) is about 2 to 4 weeks. For fungal infections of nails, the duration may vary from 6 to 12 weeks, with fingernail infections taking around 6 weeks and toenail infections taking up to 12 weeks. The exact duration is decided by your doctor depending on the type of infection, site of infection, and patient's response.
