Dv Cobal 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Dv Cobal 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folate).
Vitamin B12 is naturally found in animal products like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. People following vegetarian or vegan diets may not obtain adequate amounts of vitamin B12 from food sources as it is not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency in vitamin B12 can occur more frequently in these individuals.
Vitamin B12 deficiency may lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells are larger than normal). It can also cause nerve problems like numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Dv Cobal 1500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or a rash may occur. Discontinue use of the medicine immediately if you experience a rash.
Dv Cobal 1500mcg Injection can be administered either intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Dv Cobal 1500mcg injection), and it is administered 3 times per week. After two months, the dosage is lowered to 1 ampoule (0.5 mg) once every one to three months for maintenance therapy.
Avoid injecting the medication at the same site repeatedly. If you experience intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert it at a different site.
