Duraten 1mg Tablet is an alpha-blocker used to treat high blood pressure and lower the risk of heart attack or stroke. It may also be used to treat mild enlargement of the prostate gland in men (benign prostatic hyperplasia).
Tablet
Duraten 1mg Tablet may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medicines. It can be taken with or without food. The dose will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. Follow the advice of your doctor on what is right for you. You need to use this medicine regularly to get the most benefit from it so keep taking it even if you feel well. High blood pressure does not usually have symptoms. If you stop taking it, your blood pressure may rise and put you at risk of heart attack or stroke. You may need to take it for the rest of your life.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Duraten 1mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Duraten 1mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Duraten 1mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Duraten 1mg Tablet is an alpha-blocker. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels. It also relaxes the muscles around the bladder exit and prostate, making it easier to urinate.
It may cause sudden drop in your blood pressure especially when you first start taking this medicine. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Do not consume alcohol while taking Duraten 1mg Tablet as it may enhance the blood pressure lowering effect of this medicine causing increased dizziness. Be cautious while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as it can cause dizziness and sleepiness. Inform your doctor that you are taking Duraten 1mg Tablet if you are scheduled for a cataract surgery.
Duraten 1mg Tablet is a vasodilator medication that helps widen blood vessels, reducing high blood pressure and alleviating symptoms of an enlarged prostate by relaxing muscle tissues in the urinary tract.
Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you're aware of how the medication affects you. Refrain from consuming alcohol, as it may cause undesirable side effects like dizziness. Inform your doctor about all other medications you're taking to ensure proper dosage.
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, drowsiness, weakness, and nausea. These symptoms are usually mild and resolve on their own; however, consult your doctor if they persist or cause concern.
The duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor based on the condition being treated. For conditions like high blood pressure, you may need to continue taking the medication lifelong.
Take this medication exactly as directed by your doctor. Swallow it orally, before or after meals and drinks, and typically at evenly spaced intervals (two or three times a day).
