Introduction

Duova Rotacap is a combination of two medicines: Formoterol and Tiotropium. Formoterol is a bronchodilator, while Tiotropium is an anticholinergic. They work by relaxing airway muscles and widening airways, making breathing easier. Your doctor will tell you how often to use your inhaler, and it's essential to use it regularly to be effective. If you stop taking it, your COPD may worsen. To get the benefit from this medicine, you need to ensure you get your inhaler technique right, otherwise, it may not work as well.

Rotacaps must not be swallowed. Place the capsule at the base of the rotahaler, not in the mouthpiece. Twist the mouthpiece completely until you hear a click and breathe in deeply through the mouthpiece. Hold your breath for up to 10 seconds. If some powder remains in the rotahaler, repeat the process.

Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor even if you feel better. If you are overweight, it is advisable to lose weight. This is because being overweight means that you have to work much harder to breathe in to inflate your lungs.
