Dumel Forte 1000mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Dumel Forte 1000mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that the body requires to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It is also important for releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
You may not be getting enough vitamin B12 from your diet. Vitamin B12 is found naturally in some animal-based foods such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. People who follow vegetarian or vegan diets may find it harder to get enough vitamin B12 as it's not present in plant foods like fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency in this essential nutrient is more common amongst those who don’t consume animal-derived products.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to several symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition causing abnormally large red blood cells). It may also lead to nerve problems like numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other possible symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and sore mouth or tongue.
Dumel Forte 1000mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia (loss of appetite), and rash may occur. If a rash occurs during or after using Dumel Forte 1000mcg Injection, discontinue use immediately.
Dumel Forte 1000mcg Injection can be administered intravenously (directly into a vein) or intramuscularly (into muscle tissue). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Dumel Forte 1000mcg Injection) and it's typically given 3 times per week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Dumel Forte 1000mcg Injection) is administered every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
When administering Dumel Forte 1000mcg Injection, avoid injecting at the same site repeatedly. If pain occurs during injection or if blood backflows into the syringe, remove the needle and re-inject at a different location.
