Oral Suspension
Diof Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Diof Oral Suspension is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Diof Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Diof Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
If you think your child has taken an extra dose of Diof Oral Suspension, seek immediate medical attention. Overdose may lead to severe side effects such as seizures, tremors, headaches, weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and irregular heartbeat.
If your child's condition doesn't improve despite completing the prescribed treatment with Diof Oral Suspension, consult their doctor. They may recommend a different antibiotic that is more effective against the infection-causing bacteria.
Inform your child's doctor about any other medications they are taking before starting Diof Oral Suspension. Additionally, check with their doctor before giving any medicine to your child, as Diof Oral Suspension may interact with certain substances.
Typically, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccines or cause adverse reactions. However, it's recommended to delay vaccinations until your child recovers from the illness. Once they feel better, the vaccine can be administered.
Inform their doctor if your child has pre-existing conditions such as heart disease, genetic disorders, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photodermatitis, neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This is because Diof Oral Suspension may exacerbate these conditions and lead to complications.

No, do not combine Diof Oral Suspension with cough and cold medications as it may interfere with their effectiveness.
