How it works
Dicmodol-MR Tablet is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Chlorzoxazone) and two pain relieving medicines (Diclofenac and Paracetamol). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm, thereby improving movement of muscles. The pain relieving medicines work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Frequently asked questions
What is Dicmodol-MR Tablet?
Dicmodol-MR Tablet contains diclofenac, paracetamol, and chlorzoxazone. These medicines work together to relieve muscle pain. Chlorzoxazone acts on the central nervous system as a muscle relaxant. Diclofenac and paracetamol help by reducing prostaglandins, chemical substances that cause pain and inflammation.
Is Dicmodol-MR Tablet safe?
Dicmodol-MR Tablet is generally safe for most patients. However, it may cause common side effects like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, weakness, sleepiness, and other less common or rare side effects. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any persistent problems related to this medication.
When can I stop taking Dicmodol-MR Tablet?
You should continue taking Dicmodol-MR Tablet as prescribed by your doctor unless you are using it for short-term pain relief. Only discontinue the medication after consulting with your physician.
Can I experience nausea and vomiting while taking Dicmodol-MR Tablet?
Yes, nausea and vomiting can occur when using Dicmodol-MR Tablet. If you are experiencing nausea, consider taking it with milk or food, or use an antacid. Avoid fatty or fried foods and drink small amounts of fluid frequently to prevent dehydration. Consult your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration like dark urine and infrequent urination. Do not take any other medication without consulting your doctor.
Can Dicmodol-MR Tablet cause dizziness?
Yes, some patients may experience dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady, or lightheaded) while using Dicmodol-MR Tablet. If you feel dizzy, rest for a few minutes and resume your activity when you feel better.
Can long-term use of Dicmodol-MR Tablet damage the kidneys?
Yes, prolonged use of Dicmodol-MR Tablet can potentially lead to kidney damage. Prostaglandins normally protect the kidneys from harm, and using painkillers reduces these levels. Using pain relievers is not advisable for individuals with pre-existing kidney problems.
Can I take a higher dose of Dicmodol-MR Tablet?
No, exceeding the recommended dosage of Dicmodol-MR Tablet can increase the likelihood of experiencing side effects. If you have an increase in pain severity or if your pain is not relieved by the prescribed doses, consult your doctor for further evaluation.
How should I store Dicmodol-MR Tablet?
Store this medication in its original container or packaging. Ensure it is tightly closed. Follow the instructions on the provided label or package. Discard any unused medications. Remember to keep this medication away from pets, children, and unauthorized individuals.
