How it works
Diclotuff-MR Tablet is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Chlorzoxazone) and two pain relieving medicines (Diclofenac and Paracetamol). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm, thereby improving movement of muscles. The pain relieving medicines work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Frequently asked questions
What is Diclotuff-MR Tablet?
Diclotuff-MR Tablet is a combination medication containing diclofenac, paracetamol, and chlorzoxazone. This tablet provides relief from muscle pain. Chlorzoxazone acts on the central nervous system to relax muscles. Diclofenac and paracetamol work by reducing prostaglandins, chemicals that cause pain and inflammation.
Is Diclotuff-MR Tablet safe for use?
Diclotuff-MR Tablet is generally safe for most patients. However, it may cause common side effects like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, weakness, sleepiness, and other rare side effects. It's important to inform your doctor immediately if you experience persistent problems related to the medication.
Can I stop taking Diclotuff-MR Tablet when my pain is relieved?
If prescribed for a specific duration, continue taking Diclotuff-MR Tablet as advised by your doctor. However, you can discontinue the medication if you are using it for short-term pain relief.
Can Diclotuff-MR Tablet cause nausea and vomiting?
Yes, Diclotuff-MR Tablet can lead to nausea and vomiting. If experiencing these symptoms, take the medication with milk, food, or antacids. Avoid consuming fatty or fried foods along with this medicine. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Consult your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration like dark-colored and strong-smelling urine or reduced urination frequency. Never take any other medication without first consulting your doctor.
Can Diclotuff-MR Tablet cause dizziness?
Yes, Diclotuff-MR Tablet may cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady, or lightheaded) in some patients. If you experience dizziness or lightheadedness, rest for a while and resume once feeling better.
Can long-term use of Diclotuff-MR Tablet cause damage to kidneys?
Long-term use of Diclotuff-MR Tablet can lead to kidney damage. The normal function of the kidneys involves the production of a chemical called prostaglandin that protects them from damage. Painkillers lower levels of prostaglandins in the body, which over time can cause kidney problems. Patients with pre-existing kidney disease should avoid using painkillers.
Can I take a higher dose of this medicine than recommended?
Taking a higher dose of Diclotuff-MR Tablet may increase the risk of side effects. If you're experiencing increased pain severity or if your pain isn't relieved by the prescribed dosage, please consult your doctor for a review.
