How it works
Diclorest-MR Tablet is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Chlorzoxazone) and two pain relieving medicines (Diclofenac and Paracetamol). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm, thereby improving movement of muscles. The pain relieving medicines work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
Quick Tips
You have been prescribed Diclorest-MR Tablet to relieve pain due to muscle spasm. This medicine is most effective when taken along with proper rest and physical therapy. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Diclorest-MR Tablet as it may cause excessive drowsiness and increase the risk of liver damage. Older adults may have increased drowsiness, confusion, and higher risk of falling as a result of taking Diclorest-MR Tablet. Do not take it with any other medicine containing acetaminophen (drugs for pain/fever or cough-and-cold) without asking your doctor first.

Frequently asked questions
What is Diclorest-MR Tablet?
Diclorest-MR Tablet is a combination medication that contains three active ingredients: Diclofenac, Paracetamol, and Chlorzoxazone. It is used to relieve muscle pain, with Chlorzoxazone acting as a muscle relaxant on the central nervous system, and Diclofenac and Paracetamol reducing the production of prostaglandins, which cause pain and inflammation.
Is it safe to use Diclorest-MR Tablet?
Diclorest-MR Tablet is generally safe for most patients, but it may cause common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, weakness, and sleepiness. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any persistent problems while taking this medication.
Can I stop taking Diclorest-MR Tablet when my pain is relieved?
It is recommended to continue taking Diclorest-MR Tablet for the duration advised by your doctor, unless you are using it for short-term pain relief. Consult your doctor before stopping the medication.
Can the use of Diclorest-MR Tablet cause nausea and vomiting?
Yes, Diclorest-MR Tablet may cause nausea and vomiting. To alleviate nausea, take the medication with milk, food, or antacids. Avoid consuming fatty or fried foods with this medication. If you experience vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids in small, frequent sips. Consult your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, such as dark-colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medication without consulting your doctor.
Can the use of Diclorest-MR Tablet cause dizziness?
