Dezist Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Menthol, Cetirizine, and Phenylpropanolamine. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Menthol produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Phenylpropanolamine is a sympathomimetic agonist. It narrows blood vessels in the nose to relieve congestion.
Dezist Syrup is prescribed to get relief from a dry cough. Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications Consult your doctor if you do not see any improvement and have a cough for more than 7 days. Inform your doctor if you have had a cough for a long time or if you have asthma or suffer from serious asthma attacks or if your cough is accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache.
