How it works
Dermiford-K5 Cream is a combination of four medicines: Clobetasol, Gentamicin, Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin), and Ketoconazole. Clobetasol is a steroid. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Gentamicin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Ketoconazole and Clioquinol are antifungal medicines. Ketoconazole kills and stops the growth of the fungi by destroying its cell membrane, thereby treating your skin infection. Clioquinol acts by interacting with DNA synthesis thus killing the fungi that are responsible for causing the infection.
Quick Tips
Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying. Apply it as a thin layer onto a clean, dry, unbroken infected area of skin. It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away. Use moisturizer regularly to overcome skin dryness during the course of treatment. It may take several weeks to show its action. Keep using it as suggested by your doctor. Don't use this medicine more often or for longer than advised by your doctor. Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 1 week of treatment.
