Dermasol-GM Cream is a combination of three medicines: Clobetasol, Gentamicin, and Miconazole, which treats skin infections. Clobetasol is a steroid medicine that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. It provides temporary relief of symptoms. Gentamicin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Miconazole is an antifungal that stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering.
Your doctor has prescribed Dermasol-GM Cream to cure your infection and improve symptoms. Some tips for personal hygiene: Wash your hands with soap before and after applying the cream. Do not share your towel or clothes with anyone. Wear clean clothes every day to prevent infection. Be patient and keep using it every day. Avoid getting it in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If you think the area of skin you are treating has become more irritated and infected, you should stop using Dermasol-GM Cream and consult your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Dermasol-GM Cream should be used as advised by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Apply a thin layer to cover the affected area(s). The dose will depend on the condition being treated. After applying, wash your hands unless you're treating an infection of the hands. Avoid contact with your eyes.
Do not stop using Dermasol-GM Cream until your doctor advises you to. Complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
Dermasol-GM Cream should not be used on your face or near your eyes. Avoid applying a bandage or dressing over the treated area, as this can increase absorption and side effects. Only use it for the condition prescribed and do not give it to others.
The dosage and duration should strictly follow your doctor's advice. Using high doses or prolonged periods can lead to adrenal suppression, Cushing's syndrome, weight gain, high blood pressure, facial rounding, skin color changes, visible veins, and increased hair growth. If symptoms worsen, consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
Keep the medicine in its original packet or container. Store it as instructed on the pack or label. Dispose of any unused medicine to prevent consumption by pets, children, or others.
Dermasol-GM Cream is not suitable for patients with known allergies to its components or excipients. Avoid using it for fungal (ringworm, athlete's foot), viral (herpes, chickenpox) infections, acne, or rosacea. Consult your doctor before using it for any condition.
