Derbo Eye Drop is a prescription medicine used to treat bacterial eye infections, relieving redness, itching, and swelling.

Introduction:
Derbo Eye Drop is to be used only in the affected eye. Read the label carefully for instructions before you use the medicine. Use it in the exact dose and duration as advised by the doctor or as instructed on the label. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Complete your dose even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may bring back the infection. Use of this medicine may cause burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately rinse it with water. Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.

Dosage Form:
Eye Drop

How to Use:
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

How it Works:
Derbo Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Dexamethasone and Tobramycin. Dexamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen, and itchy. Tobramycin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth in the eye by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Quick Tips:
  • Your doctor has prescribed Derbo Eye Drop to cure your eye infection and improve your symptoms.
  • Use it twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
  • Wash your hands first before applying Derbo Eye Drop. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after putting the medication. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
  • Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
  • Eye infections can cause your eyes to become more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Wearing sunglasses may help to prevent this.
  • Along with using Derbo Eye Drop, give warm compress to your eyes to get relief from itching and burning sensation.
  • Take care to avoid spreading the infection from one eye to the other, and to other members of your family. Washing your hands regularly (particularly after touching your eyes) and not sharing towels or pillows will help to prevent the infection from spreading.
