Introduction

Defen Plus Gel is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Chlorzoxazone) and two pain relieving medicines (Diclofenac and Paracetamol). It is only meant for external use and should be used strictly as advised by your doctor. Rub a thin layer of the medicine into the affected areas with clean and dry hands. Avoid getting in contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth, and avoid applying it on wounded or damaged skin. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse them with plenty of cold water.

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying unless hands are the affected area.

Side Effects

Burning or stinging sensation, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application in some people.

Alcohol Warning

Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Defen Plus Gel as it may cause excessive drowsiness and increase the risk of liver damage.

The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm, thereby improving movement of muscles. The pain relieving medicines work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation.

Defen Plus Gel should not be taken with any other medicine containing acetaminophen (drugs for pain/fever or cough-and-cold) without asking your doctor first. Older adults may have increased drowsiness, confusion, and higher risk of falling as a result of taking Defen Plus Gel. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Defen Plus Gel as it may cause excessive drowsiness and increase the risk of liver damage.
