Oral Suspension
Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
If you think your child has taken an extra dose of Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension, seek medical attention immediately. Overdose can lead to serious side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and rapid heart rate. Be vigilant and consult a doctor right away if you notice any of these symptoms.
If your child shows no improvement after completing the treatment with Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension, it may mean that the medicine was ineffective against the infection-causing bacteria. Consult a doctor who may prescribe an alternative antibiotic with more targeted action.
Inform your doctor about any other medications your child is taking before starting Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension, as it can interact with other substances. Also, consult a doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, vaccination should be postponed until the child recovers from their illness. Once they feel better, the vaccine can be administered.
Inform your doctor about any pre-existing conditions such as heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy, neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This is because Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension may worsen these conditions and lead to complications.
The presence of metronidazole in Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension can cause harmless red-brown urine. This side effect will subside once the medicine is stopped after completing the treatment.
No, do not give Dealflox MZ Oral Suspension with cough and cold medicines as it can interfere with their working.
