Dapcard M 5mg/500mg Tablet is a combination medication used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps control high blood sugar levels, thereby reducing the risk of serious complications such as heart disease. The medication combines Dapagliflozin and Metformin, which work together to provide better blood sugar control. Dapagliflozin removes excess glucose through urine, while Metformin lowers sugar production in the liver, delays glucose absorption from the intestines, and increases the body's sensitivity to insulin. This combination can also reduce the risk of heart attack, heart failure, and other cardiovascular events. Common side effects may include urinary tract infections and dehydration. Always consult your doctor for personalized medical advice.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Dapcard M 5mg/500mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. Dapcard M 5mg/500mg Tablet can cause urinary tract infection. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and practice good genital hygiene. It may cause your body to lose too much fluid (dehydration) or you to urinate more often. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol, or if you delay or miss a meal. Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxious feeling.
