Cytotrex 7.5mg Tablet may be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It is crucial to take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Overdosing can lead to serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months to notice the benefits, but do not stop taking it unless advised by your doctor. Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase the risk of liver damage. Common side effects include ulcerative stomatitis, hair loss, low blood cell count, increased liver enzymes, nausea, and abdominal distress. Your doctor may recommend folic acid to mitigate some of these effects. This medicine may lower your ability to fight infections and affect your blood, liver, or kidneys. Regular tests may be required to monitor these effects. Inform your doctor about any stomach, liver, or kidney issues, or if you are taking any other medications. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential harm to the baby.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it whole without chewing, crushing, or breaking it. Cytotrex 7.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Cytotrex 7.5mg Tablet inhibits enzymes (dihydrofolate reductase), prevents cell division, and leads to anti-inflammatory actions. It kills cancer cells by preventing them from making DNA. It helps control psoriasis by slowing the production of skin cells and suppressing inflammation. It treats rheumatoid arthritis by suppressing the immune system, reducing inflammation that causes swollen and stiff joints, or damage to the bowel in Crohn's disease.
Drink plenty of liquids to stay hydrated while taking this medication. Take folic acid if advised by your doctor to lessen the side effects. It may take weeks to months for Cytotrex 7.5mg Tablet to work. Keep taking it as prescribed. Your doctor may get regular blood tests done to monitor your kidney function, liver function, and blood cell levels. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it may increase the risk of side effects. It can be harmful to an unborn baby. Avoid pregnancy for at least 6 months after your last dose.
