Frequently asked questions
What is Cynocal-M Injection?
Cynocal-M Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that helps the body make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folate).
Why might I not be getting enough vitamin B12 through my diet?
You can get vitamin B12 from sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. People who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may need to pay extra attention to obtaining vitamin B12 as it is not naturally found in plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, they might be at risk for Vitamin B12 deficiency.
What happens if I have a Vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal). It may also lead to nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other possible symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, mouth or tongue soreness.
Is Cynocal-M Injection safe?
Cynocal-M Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects may occur such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. If you experience a rash during or after taking this medication, discontinue use immediately.
How should Cynocal-M Injection be administered?
Cynocal-M Injection can be given by injection into a vein (intravenously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The usual dose is one ampoule (0.5 mg of Cynocal-M Injection), given three times per week. After two months, one ampoule (0.5 mg of Cynocal-M Injection) can be administered every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken when administering Cynocal-M Injection?
It is important not to inject Cynocal-M Injection at the same site each time. If you experience pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert it at a different location.
