Curelexin Kid Tablet is an antibiotic prescribed for children to treat various bacterial infections such as those affecting the ear, nose, throat, tonsils, lungs, and skin. It may also be used as a second line of treatment for urinary tract infections. The medicine can be taken with or without food, but if it causes stomach upset, it is better to take it with food. Common side effects include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and mild skin rash, which usually subside as the child's body adapts to the medicine. It is crucial to inform the doctor about the child's complete medical history to ensure the correct dosage and treatment plan.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Curelexin Kid Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Curelexin Kid Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. This activity stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply, become resistant, or cause another infection. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Contact your doctor if your child has diarrhea that goes on for more than 4 days or if it is severe and watery, or contains blood. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. This medicine is not to be taken in such cases. Only give Curelexin Kid Tablet to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine. You may see white patches inside your child’s mouth and throat after a prolonged intake of Curelexin Kid Tablet. This could be due to a fungal infection. So, if your child develops any such effect, contact your doctor right away.
If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately. While an extra dose is unlikely to cause harm, it's possible for overuse to lead to unwanted side effects or worsening symptoms.
Curelexin Kid Tablet may rarely cause severe reactions such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergies, severe diarrhea, and gastrointestinal infections. If you notice these symptoms in your child, consult their doctor promptly.
Inform the doctor about any other medications your child is currently taking before starting Curelexin Kid Tablet. Also, consult with the doctor before administering any new medications to your child.
Antibiotics generally do not interact with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have been vaccinated. However, it is recommended that children receiving antibiotics should wait until they recover from their illness before getting vaccinated.
As an antibiotic, Curelexin Kid Tablet may disrupt the balance of good bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, potentially leading to increased risk of developing other infections. If your child experiences diarrhea while on this treatment, consult their doctor for guidance.
