Magaldrate Sodium Bicarbonate
Cpdox Oral Suspension is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or become resistant or cause another infection. Give this medicine with food to avoid an upset stomach. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Only give Cpdox Oral Suspension to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
An extra dose of Cpdox Oral Suspension is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you suspect that your child has received an excessive dose, consult a doctor immediately. Overdose may lead to unwanted side effects and potentially worsen your child's condition.
Cpdox Oral Suspension may cause serious side effects, including persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. If you notice any of these symptoms, consult your child's doctor for guidance and support.
Avoid administering Cpdox Oral Suspension with medications like Aminoglycosides (amikacin, gentamicin, streptomycin), anticoagulants (warfarin), PPIs (Pentaprozole), and H2 blockers (Famotidine). Inform your child's doctor if your child is taking any of these medications before starting Cpdox Oral Suspension.
It is recommended to inform your child's doctor if your child is taking Cpdox Oral Suspension before receiving vaccinations like BCG, cholera, and typhoid, as Cpdox Oral Suspension may neutralize the vaccine's effects.
Your child's doctor may recommend periodic kidney function tests and liver function tests to monitor their condition while taking Cpdox Oral Suspension long-term.
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate the need for antibiotics. During a common cold, it is normal for mucus to thicken and change color. Symptoms often last for 7-10 days.
No, more than 80% of sore throats and ear infections are caused by viruses and antibiotics are not prescribed for viral infections. If your child has a sore throat, runny nose, a barky cough, pain, and discharge from the ear, it is likely due to a virus. Consult your child's doctor for guidance.
In most cases, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Using antibiotics to treat viral infections may lead to side effects without benefiting your child's health. Use antibiotics only after consulting with your child's doctor.
Children often experience stomach upset when taking antibiotics. Cpdox Oral Suspension may kill off good bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, increasing the risk of developing other infections. If your child develops diarrhea while taking Cpdox Oral Suspension, do not stop the medication course. Instead, consult your child's doctor for guidance.
Yes, irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Cpdox Oral Suspension can lead to resistance. Resistant bacteria are no longer killed by antibiotics and may lead to reinfection.
