Cozec-Kid Oral Suspension is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. Cetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks histamine (a chemical messenger) to relieve allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Do not give Cozec-Kid Oral Suspension if your child is less than 2 years of age. Consult your child's doctor before giving such medicines. Cozec-Kid Oral Suspension may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities. Never combine Cozec-Kid Oral Suspension with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects. Stop Cozec-Kid Oral Suspension and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties. A common cold is a respiratory illness that usually resolves within a week. While you can provide comfort, it's best to consult your healthcare provider about the most effective approach for recovery. If symptoms worsen or don’t improve after a week, contact your doctor. A persistent cough may indicate bronchitis or asthma, which require professional medical attention.
Accidental ingestion of excess Cozec-Kid Oral Suspension can lead to serious adverse effects such as seizures, psychiatric symptoms, urinary retention, hand tremors, blurred vision, severe abdominal pain, and rapid heart rate. Seek immediate medical attention by contacting your child’s doctor or an emergency helpline.
It's crucial to consult your healthcare provider about any other medications your child may be taking before starting Cozec-Kid Oral Suspension. Always obtain guidance from a doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Cozec-Kid Oral Suspension is not recommended for children with a pre-existing seizure disorder.
