Introduction

Costigmine 0.5mg/2.5mg Injection is given by your doctor or nurse. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effect is allergic reaction. This is temporary and usually resolves with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about these side effects. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your dizziness.

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self-administer.

Talk to your doctor or nurse before you are given Costigmine 0.5mg/2.5mg Injection: If you suffer from asthma attacks, wheezing, or difficulty in breathing; If you have low or high blood pressure; If you suffer from cardiac arrhythmia or slow heart rate; If you have a history of coronary artery disease or a heart attack; If you are suffering from epilepsy or Parkinsonism; If you suffer from myasthenia gravis; If you suffer from stomach ulcers; If you suffer from obstruction of the stomach or bowel causing vomiting, abdominal pain, and swelling; If you are pregnant or breastfeeding; Costigmine 0.5mg/2.5mg Injection should be used with caution in elderly people.
