Corect Suppository is a prescription medicine that should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is for external use only and should not be used more than the recommended dose. Inform your doctor if you have known allergies from this medicine. Remove the wrapper from the suppository before inserting it. Keep lying down for about 15 minutes after insertion so that the suppository does not come out before it melts.

Corect Suppository is a combination of four medicines: Hydrocortisone, Zinc Oxide, Lidocaine, and Allantoin. Hydrocortisone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Zinc Oxide has astringent and antiseptic action. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to the brain thereby decreasing pain sensation. Allantoin is a skin protectant that moisturizes and softens the skin.
Corect Suppository is prescribed to get relief from pain and swelling in the rectal area due to fissures. Do not take any other laxative along with Corect Suppository without consulting your doctor. Sometimes certain medicines like iron tablets, antibiotics might make your stools hard and difficult to pass. Inform your doctor if you are taking any of them. Indulge in warm baths to soothe the area and ease the pain. A fibre rich diet (wholegrain breads and cereals, fruit and green leafy vegetables) with six to eight full glasses of water each day and daily exercise are important in maintaining healthy bowel function.
