Coolfresh 20mg Capsule is best taken one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning. The dose will depend on your underlying condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep on taking it as prescribed even if your symptoms disappear quickly. You can increase the efficiency of the treatment by eating smaller meals more often and avoiding caffeinated drinks (like tea and coffee), and spicy or fatty foods. The most common side effects observed with this medicine include nausea, vomiting, headache, flatulence, diarrhea, and stomach pain. These symptoms are generally mild but if they bother you or do not go away, consult your doctor. Long-term use of this medicine may lead to an increased risk of side effects. For instance, using this medicine for more than 1 year may increase your risk for bone fractures, especially with higher doses. Talk to your doctor about ways to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis). Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have or had severe liver problems, allergic reactions to similar medicines, or bone loss (osteoporosis). Other medicines may affect, or be affected by, this medicine. Let your doctor know about all other medicines you are taking, to make sure it is safe. This is particularly important if you are taking medicines for HIV, fungal infections, tuberculosis, epilepsy (fits), or some types of blood thinners. How it works
Coolfresh 20mg Capsule is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which provides relief from symptoms of heartburn, acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

It is a well-tolerated medicine and provides relief for a long time. Avoid excessive intake of carbonated beverages/soft drinks, citrus juices, fried food, and caffeinated beverages like tea and coffee. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Avoid eating late at night or before bedtime. Inform your doctor if you get watery diarrhea, fever, or stomach pain that does not go away. Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking it for 14 days as you may be suffering from some other problem that needs attention. Long-term use of Coolfresh 20mg Capsule can cause weak bones and a deficiency of minerals such as magnesium. Take adequate dietary intake of calcium and magnesium or their supplements as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking medication without talking to your doctor. Consult your doctor right away if you develop decreased urination, edema (swelling due to fluid retention), lower back pain, nausea, fatigue, and rash or fever. These could be signs of a kidney problem.

This increases the risk of bone fractures, such as hip, wrist, or spine fractures, on long-term use. Inform your doctor if you have osteoporosis or are taking corticosteroids (which can increase the risk of osteoporosis) before starting your therapy. What are the long-term side effects of Coolfresh 20mg Capsule?
If used for more than 3 months, certain long-term side effects may occur. The most important of these is low magnesium levels in your blood, which may cause fatigue, confusion, dizziness, shakiness, or lightheadedness. You may also experience muscle twitches or irregular heartbeat. Prolonged use for more than a year may increase the risk of bone fractures, stomach infections, and vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause anemia, leading to fatigue, weakness, or paleness. You may also experience palpitations, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, indigestion, loss of appetite, flatulence (gas), or nerve problems such as numbness, tingling, and difficulty walking.

Coolfresh 20mg Capsule may cause vitamin B12 and vitamin C deficiency. Vitamin B12 requires an acidic environment for absorption from the stomach, which is decreased by this medicine. You may need to take vitamin B12 supplements along with it. The clinical significance of the decrease in vitamin C levels is not known, so vitamin C supplementation is not recommended.

Patients with cardiac disease can take Coolfresh 20mg Capsule as prescribed by their doctor.
