How it works

Colipam Forte Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Clidinium, Chlordiazepoxide and Dicyclomine. Clidinium and Dicyclomine are antispasmodics which work by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). They stop sudden muscle contractions (spasms). This relieves cramps, pain, bloating and discomfort. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Quick Tips

Colipam Forte Tablet is prescribed to give relief from the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. If you are due to have an operation or any dental treatment, please tell the doctor carrying out the treatment that you are taking Colipam Forte Tablet. This is because Colipam Forte Tablet increases the effects of some anesthetics. Inform your doctor if you have an enlarged prostate gland, glaucoma, or trouble passing urine. If you are 65 or older, use Colipam Forte Tablet with care. You could have more side effects. If you develop any new symptoms or if your symptoms get worse, make an appointment to see your doctor for further advice.
