Codimax DZ Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat dry cough. It thins the mucus in the nose and windpipe, making it easier to cough out. It also relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, throat irritation, and sneezing.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Codimax DZ Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Codimax DZ Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Cetirizine, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Zinc, and Menthol. Cetirizine is an antiallergic. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which triggers cough due to allergy. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Zinc is a nutritional supplement which releases zinc ions into the throat to reduce irritation. Menthol is produces a sensation of coolness and further relieves throat irritation.
Codimax DZ Syrup is prescribed to get relief from a dry cough. Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers or asthma. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications, e.g. anti-depressants. Consult your doctor if you do not see any improvement and have cough for more than 7 days.
