Frequently asked questions
What is Cobcan 2500mcg Injection?
Cobcan 2500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is primarily obtained from animal products such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. Vegetarians and vegans may have difficulty obtaining adequate vitamin B12 because it is not naturally found in plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, individuals following these diets may experience a deficiency of vitamin B12.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can manifest as fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal condition where red blood cells are enlarged). It might also lead to nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include problems with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Cobcan 2500mcg Injection safe?
Cobcan 2500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash may occur. If a rash develops, discontinue use of this medication.
How should Cobcan 2500mcg Injection be given?
Cobcan 2500mcg Injection can be administered either intravenously (directly into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The typical dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Cobcan 2500mcg Injection), given three times per week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Cobcan 2500mcg Injection) is given every one to three months as part of long-term maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken while administering Cobcan 2500mcg Injection?
Avoid injecting at the same site each time. If intense pain occurs during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert it at a different location.
