Cobalsin 1500mcg Injection contains cobalamin, a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is essential for the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in energy release from food and using vitamin B11 (folate).
Vitamin B12 is found in animal products such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. While people who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may not get sufficient vitamin B12 because it is not naturally present in plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, and grains. As such, vitamin B12 deficiency is more commonly observed in vegetarians or vegans.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to symptoms like fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an increase in red blood cell size).
