How it works
Clopex-S Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Clobetasol and Salicylic Acid. Clobetasol is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine which breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Clobetasol into the skin.
Quick Tips
Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily or as advised by your doctor. Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor as this may increase the risk of side effects. After you have applied Clopex-S Ointment, remember to wash your hands (unless your hands are the treated area). Use a mild moisturizer regularly to overcome the skin dryness during the course of treatment. Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.

Frequently asked questions
How to use Clopex-S Ointment?
To use Clopex-S Ointment, follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider or on the product packaging. Apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area(s) and ensure adequate coverage. Usually, you apply it two to three times daily to areas where skin is affected. Wash your hands after applying the ointment unless it is for treating skin infections on the hands.
Can I stop using Clopex-S Ointment when my symptoms are relieved?
No, you should not discontinue Clopex-S Ointment use until your healthcare provider determines that all symptoms have resolved. While your condition may improve before the disease is completely treated, continuing the prescribed treatment regimen ensures complete resolution and prevents potential complications.
What are the precautions that need to be taken while using Clopex-S Ointment?
Do not apply Clopex-S Ointment on your face. Avoid prolonged use of this medication. Do not cover the area being treated with a bandage or dressing as this can increase medicine absorption and increase the risk of side effects. This medication should only be used by the patient, not shared with others, even if their condition appears similar.
Will Clopex-S Ointment be more effective if taken more than prescribed?
No, using Clopex-S Ointment more than your prescribed dosage will not improve its efficacy.
