Clogem Cream is for external use only. It should be applied as per dose and duration suggested by the doctor. Applying it at the same time every day will help you remember to use it. The affected area should be clean and dry before application of the medicine. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course even when you feel better. Clogem Cream is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Clogem Cream is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Clogem Cream is a combination of three medicines: Clobetasone, Gentamicin and Miconazole which treat skin infections. Clobetasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Gentamicin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Miconazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering.
You have been prescribed Clogem Cream for the treatment of skin infections. Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying. Apply it as a thin layer onto a clean, dry, unbroken infected area of skin twice a day. Do not share your towel or clothes with anyone and wear clean clothes every day to prevent infection. It may take several weeks to show its action. Keep using it as suggested by your doctor.
