Frequently asked questions
Can Clobelac Cream be used for a long time?
No, Clobelac Cream is generally prescribed for 2 consecutive weeks only. However, the treatment may be longer for chronic inflammatory conditions. Consult your physician before using this medication.
Does Clobelac Cream cause severe skin reactions?
Severe skin reactions are rare with Clobelac Cream. It is an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat skin diseases, skin reactions, and eczemas. However, skin reactions can occur in those who are hypersensitive to the medication. Openly air the affected area after applying the cream to prevent occlusive dressings (air and watertight dressing) from leading to skin reactions. While the medication itself may not cause a reaction, the added excipients with the medications could lead to a reaction in some individuals. If you experience any skin reactions, inform your doctor immediately.
Can Clobelac Cream be used on the face?
No, Clobelac Cream should not be used on the face or any other body part that is prone to atrophy. It can be exceptionally considered by a doctor, but it is recommended to limit its use to 5 days if applied on the face. Before applying this medication, consult your physician.
Can Clobelac Cream be applied to children?
Clobelac Cream is not recommended for use in children less than one year of age. It is also not recommended for use in older children and adolescents because the side effects are more common. In the pediatric population, there is an increased risk of suppressed immune systems which could lead to other diseases and atrophy in the child, so it is not recommended. However, your doctor may recommend this medication in rare cases. If so, the treatment duration should be limited to 5 days, and therapy is reviewed weekly.
Can we use Clobelac Cream in infections?
Clobelac Cream is not an antimicrobial or antifungal agent. It is a corticosteroid medication. It should not be used in infections as it suppresses the immune system and increases the risk of infections. Bacterial infections are more likely to worsen if the infection is covered with a dressing after using Clobelac Cream. In case the inflammatory lesions get infected, or there is any spread of infection, consult your doctor immediately. Your doctor will then withdraw the use of Clobelac Cream and prescribe appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
Can I stop taking Clobelac Cream when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop taking Clobelac Cream and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before your treatment is complete. Stopping Clobelac Cream before your treatment is completed could bring back your symptoms.
Does Clobelac Cream cause dangerous skin reactions?
Local skin reactions are rare with Clobelac Cream. It is an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat skin diseases, skin reactions, and eczemas. However, skin reactions can occur in those who are hypersensitive to the medication. It's crucial to keep the affected area open after applying the cream to avoid occlusive dressings (air and watertight dressing) that could lead to skin reactions. If not by the medicine itself, sometimes the reactions are caused by added excipients with the medications. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any skin reactions.
