How it works
Clavspark Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Clavspark Dry Syrup?
Clavspark Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. Consult your child's doctor before starting Clavspark Dry Syrup and tell them about any other medicines they are currently taking.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Clavspark Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause a negative reaction in children who have recently received one. However, it is recommended to hold off on vaccinations until your child has recovered from their illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Clavspark Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Periodically, doctors may monitor kidney and liver function tests to ensure your child's condition during prolonged therapy.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Clavspark Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a dosage higher than recommended can increase the risks of side effects. If your child experiences worsened symptoms, consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Clavspark Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
Do not discontinue Clavspark Dry Syrup without completing the full course of treatment, even if you notice improvement in your child's symptoms. Symptoms may improve before the infection is fully cleared, and continuing the medication may provide additional benefits.
Can the use of Clavspark Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Clavspark Dry Syrup can cause diarrhea as it kills harmful bacteria. Additionally, the medicine might affect the beneficial bacteria in your child's stomach and lead to diarrhea. If your child experiences diarrhea, encourage them to drink fluids. Contact your doctor if diarrhea persists or you notice any signs of dehydration like dark-colored urine or decreased urination.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most of the time, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. In fact, using antibiotics in a viral infection can increase your child's risk of developing side effects. It is best to consult with your child's doctor before administering any antibiotics.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate a bacterial infection. During a common cold, mucus may thicken and change color (from clear to yellow or green). Symptoms often last for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
You must contact your child's doctor immediately if they experience serious allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rashes), gastrointestinal problems (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). These are rare but serious side effects requiring expert attention.
