Clarinase Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of allergy symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and congestion or stuffiness. It is a combination of two medicines: Desloratadine and Montelukast, which treats sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Desloratadine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Clarinase Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
No common side effects listed.
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Clarinase Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Clarinase Tablet is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.
Clarinase Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
