Dry Syrup
Clanex Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Clanex Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Clanex Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Clanex Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Check ‘expiry’ before giving Clanex Dry Syrup to your child. Immediately discard all the expired medicines.
Clanex Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. Please inform your child's doctor about all other medications your child is taking before using Clanex Dry Syrup. It is important to consult with your child’s healthcare provider for guidance on medication interactions and administration.
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or trigger a negative reaction in children who have recently been vaccinated. However, it is recommended to avoid giving vaccines until the child has recovered from any illness they may be experiencing when taking antibiotics.
During prolonged treatment, your child's doctor may periodically monitor kidney and liver function tests to assess their overall health.
Giving a dosage higher than prescribed for Clanex Dry Syrup can increase risks of potential side effects. If you notice worsening symptoms, please consult your child's doctor for further evaluation.
Do not discontinue Clanex Dry Syrup without complete completion of the prescribed course, even if you feel better. Symptoms may improve before complete elimination of the infection. Ensure continued treatment for its full effect.
Yes, Clanex Dry Syrup can cause diarrhea. It is an antibiotic that eliminates harmful bacteria. In addition to that, this medication may affect the beneficial bacteria in your child's stomach and cause diarrhea. Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids if they experience this side effect. Consult a doctor immediately if there is prolonged diarrhea or you notice any signs of dehydration such as infrequent urination with dark-colored urine and strong odor.
Viruses usually cause the common cold. Most of the time, bacteria do not follow viral infections. Antibiotics are only appropriate for bacterial infections after consultation with your child's doctor.
Yellow or green nasal discharge during a common cold is normal and often does not indicate a bacterial infection. The symptoms usually last for 7-10 days.
Call your child's doctor immediately if they experience severe allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, pallor, vomiting). Although rare, these side effects require expert intervention.
