Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine that increases the action of GABA, a chemical messenger that suppresses abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Propranolol is a beta blocker that blocks the action of certain chemical messengers on the heart and blood vessels, reducing heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart.

Used for the treatment of anxiety. It can take a week or two for the effect to build up and 4-6 weeks to feel the full benefit. Do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.
