Frequently asked questions
Does Cipmido 10mg Tablet raise blood pressure?
Yes, Cipmido 10mg Tablet can cause elevated blood pressure when lying flat on your back (supine hypertension). This medicine should only be used by individuals whose low blood pressure impacts their daily life and for whom other treatments have been unsuccessful.
Does Cipmido 10mg Tablet affect heart rate?
Cipmido 10mg Tablet may slightly slow down the heart rate. It should be used cautiously when combined with other medications (beta blockers, digoxin, etc.) that can further reduce heart rate. Patients should be closely monitored for any symptoms suggestive of a slowed heart rate.
Why cannot I lie down after taking Cipmido 10mg Tablet?
Lying flat down immediately after taking Cipmido 10mg Tablet may increase the risk of supine hypertension (high blood pressure when lying flat on your back). Therefore, it is recommended to take the last daily dose at least four hours before bedtime. Elevating the head while sleeping can reduce the risk of supine hypertension occurring during the night.
Does Cipmido 10mg Tablet work immediately?
Cipmido 10mg Tablet takes approximately one hour to show its effects. However, the effect lasts for a short period; it persists for about two to three hours.
How do I take Cipmido 10mg Tablet?
Cipmido 10mg Tablet should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. It is taken orally with or without food; swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Typically, it is advised to take the medicine three times daily (morning, midday, and late afternoon [before 6 PM]) with a gap of at least three hours. The last daily dose of Cipmido 10mg Tablet should be taken before an evening meal and at least four hours before bedtime.
Who should not take Cipmido 10mg Tablet?
Cipmido 10mg Tablet is not advised for patients with allergies to any component of the product, severe heart disease, unusually slow heart rate, high blood pressure, and conditions causing arterial narrowing. In addition, treatment with Cipmido 10mg Tablet should be avoided if the patient has an enlarged prostate gland, urinary retention (when the bladder cannot empty properly), pheochromocytoma (tumour of the adrenal medulla), acute or severe kidney disease, overactive thyroid, poor vision as a result of diabetes, and narrow-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye).
Is any monitoring required during Cipmido 10mg Tablet treatment?
You may need to have your blood pressure and kidney/liver function tested before starting Cipmido 10mg Tablet. Once you start taking the medication, monitor your blood pressure and heart rate closely, especially after lying down.
How will I know that I have developed supine hypertension?
Symptoms of supine hypertension include chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, headaches, and blurred vision. If you experience any of these symptoms, tell your doctor immediately. Your doctor may reduce the dose of Cipmido 10mg Tablet or discontinue treatment if the symptoms persist.
Can I take metoprolol with Cipmido 10mg Tablet?
Using Cipmido 10mg Tablet and metoprolol together can significantly slow down your heart rate. Therefore, careful use of both medications is needed. If you experience symptoms such as a slow pulse, dizziness, or fainting, tell your doctor right away; their dosage may need to be adjusted.
