Introduction
Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be taken at the same time as Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup?
Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup may interact with other medications. It is important to inform your doctor about any other medications your child is taking before starting treatment with this medicine. Consulting with a healthcare professional is crucial before administering any medication to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup?
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children. However, it is advisable to postpone vaccinations until the child recovers from any illness before receiving the vaccine.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Regular monitoring of kidney and liver function is typically recommended during prolonged therapy with this medicine to ensure your child's well-being.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a dosage beyond the prescribed amount can increase potential side effects. If your child experiences an escalation in symptoms, contact their doctor for reevaluation and further instructions.
Can I stop giving Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
It is essential not to discontinue this medication without your doctor's consent. It may still be beneficial even if symptoms improve before a complete cure. Continue taking the prescribed dose until fully advised by your healthcare provider.
Can Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup cause diarrhea in my child?
Yes, Chemoxy CV Plus Dry Syrup can lead to diarrhea. This is a common side effect due to the nature of this antibiotic as it kills harmful bacteria. It may also affect beneficial bacteria in your child's gut and cause diarrhea. In such cases, encourage drinking fluids like water or milk. If the diarrhea persists or you notice signs of dehydration (decreased urination with dark-colored urine or unusual smell), consult your doctor before administering any other medications.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most viral infections do not lead to bacterial infections. It is important not to use antibiotics for viral infections, as this can increase the risk of side effects. Consult your doctor before administering any medication based on a diagnosis.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green nasal discharge is not indicative of a bacterial infection. In common colds, mucus often thickens and changes color from clear to yellow or green. Symptoms usually last for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Seek immediate medical care if your child experiences severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rashes), gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea, vomiting), or signs of liver damage (weakness, paleness, jaundice). These are rare but serious side effects that require prompt professional attention.
