Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. Cetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks histamine (a chemical messenger) to relieve allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Do not give Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension if your child is less than 2 years of age. Consult your child's doctor before giving such medicines. Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities. Never combine Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects. Stop Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties. Practice self-care tips: clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing, give your child plenty of fluids, restrain your child from having caffeinated products and foods that are spicy and fried, make your child gargle with warm saltwater, and ensure your child takes enough rest.
A common cold is usually a self-limiting respiratory illness that typically lasts about a week. If you'd like to ease your child's discomfort, discuss with your doctor the best approach for faster recovery. However, if their cold symptoms don’t improve or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. A persistent cough might indicate a more serious condition such as bronchitis or asthma.
Excessive ingestion of Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension can pose serious risks, including seizures, psychiatric symptoms, urinary retention, shaking of hands, blurred vision, severe abdominal pain, and rapid heart rate. Call your child's doctor immediately in this case.
It is crucial to inform your child's doctor about all other medications your child is taking before administering Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension. Consult with their doctor before giving any medication to your child.
Avoid administering Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension to children with a history of seizures. It is also advisable to avoid this medication in children suffering from cardiovascular conditions (hypertension, heart disease), diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal obstruction, increased intraocular pressure, urinary obstruction, or thyroid dysfunction. Always inform your doctor about your child's medical history and consult your doctor before administering Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension for any health condition.
Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension might induce mild drowsiness, potentially making your child feel sleepy. Avoid using it to induce sleep and be cautious with giving the medication. It’s always best to consult with your doctor before administering this medication.
Cetfast Cold Oral Suspension should be stored at room temperature, in a dry location away from direct sunlight or heat. Keep all medicines out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental intake.
