Cephapol Syrup is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections in children, including ear, nose, throat, tonsils, lungs, and skin infections, as well as urinary tract infections.
Syrup
Cephapol Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that is given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections associated with the ear, nose, throat, tonsils, lungs, and skin. It may also be prescribed as a second line of treatment for urinary tract infections.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Cephapol Syrup is an antibiotic that works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. This activity stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect Contact your doctor if your child has diarrhea that goes on for more than 4 days or if it is severe and watery or contains blood Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. This medicine is not to be taken in such cases Only give Cephapol Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses
If you think your child has taken too much Cephapol Syrup by mistake, please seek medical attention immediately. An extra dose is unlikely to cause harm, but it's always best to consult a doctor to be on the safe side and ensure your child's condition doesn't worsen.
While rare, Cephapol Syrup can lead to some severe side effects. If you notice persistent vomiting, kidney damage, an allergy, severe diarrhea, or a gastrointestinal infection in your child, please consult their doctor right away.
Cephapol Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. Before starting the treatment, inform your child's doctor about any other medicines they're taking. It's also a good idea to check with their doctor before giving them any additional medicine.
Generally, antibiotics like Cephapol Syrup don't interfere with vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, it's best to delay getting a vaccine until your child has fully recovered from their illness.
Cephapol Syrup may disrupt the good bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, potentially leading to other infections. If your child experiences diarrhea while on treatment with Cephapol Syrup, please consult their doctor for guidance rather than stopping the medication abruptly.
