Cefnocef CV Dry Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Clavulanic Acid. Cefpodoxime Proxetil is an antibiotic that works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering, which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in children who have just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
Periodically, check with your child’s doctor to get their kidney function and liver function tested as part of the regular monitoring during the long-term use of Cefnocef CV Dry Syrup.
Children's stomachs are easily sensitive, and they might experience stomach upset while taking antibiotics. When antibiotics are given, the good bacteria in their digestive tract may get affected too. Cefnocef CV Dry Syrup may kill off good bacteria along with bad ones too, increasing the risk of developing other infections. If your child develops diarrhea on Cefnocef CV Dry Syrup, do not stop the medication course; rather, contact your child’s doctor and they will guide you through next steps. In some cases, the doctor may adjust the dosage.
