Cebox 125mg Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in children. It is effective in treating infections of the ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, soft tissues, bones, joints, and urinary tract. It is also given to prevent infection in animal and human bite wounds and may be given before surgical procedures as a preventive therapy.
Complete the entire course of antibiotics as directed by your doctor. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Cebox 125mg Tablet is an antibiotic that works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. This medicine is not to be taken in such cases. Only give Cebox 125mg Tablet to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Discontinue giving Cebox 125mg Tablet and consult the doctor immediately in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
Cebox 125mg Tablet may cause seizure activity, particularly in children who have kidney disease. Therefore, Cebox 125mg Tablet should be used with caution in children with a history of seizure disorder. If seizures occur, discontinue Cebox 125mg Tablet and consult your child’s doctor right away.

Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
The doctor may prescribe getting kidney function tests and liver function tests periodically to monitor your child's condition.
In most cases, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Using antibiotics to treat viral infections may lead to side effects without benefiting your child's health. Therefore, you must only give antibiotics to your child after consulting with their doctor.
Antibiotics kill the infection-causing bacteria, but while doing this they may affect the good bacteria present in the gastrointestinal tract. As a result, your child may develop diarrhea or other infections. Children have a more sensitive stomach than adults, so the likelihood of developing a stomach upset is higher. In case your child is having diarrhea on Cebox 125mg Tablet, do not stop the medication course. Instead, call your child’s doctor to ask about the next steps. In some cases, the doctor may alter the dose.
The time it takes for Cebox 125mg Tablet to work depends on the type of infection and how your child's body reacts. It can take a few days to begin working.
