Tablet
Cartum 125mg Tablet can be given either before or after meals but giving it with food improves absorption and reduces the chances of stomach upset in your child. The dose and duration depend upon the type and severity of the infection so stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of the intake, give the same dose again but do not double dose if it is already time for the next dose. This medicine may have some minor and temporary side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, allergy, and transient increased in liver enzyme. These episodes should start receding after a few doses. However, if these side effects persist or become bothersome for your child, report to the doctor without any delay.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cartum 125mg Tablet is to be taken with food. Avoid Cartum 125mg Tablet with dietary sodium.

Cartum 125mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. This medicine is not to be taken in such cases. Only give Cartum 125mg Tablet to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Discontinue giving Cartum 125mg Tablet and consult the doctor immediately in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
Cartum 125mg Tablet should be used with caution in children with a history of seizure disorders as it can cause seizures, particularly those with underlying kidney disease. If seizures occur, discontinue Cartum 125mg Tablet and visit your child's doctor right away.
An extra dose of Cartum 125mg Tablet is unlikely to harm. However, if you think you have given too much of Cartum 125mg Tablet to your child, immediately speak to a doctor.

Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
The doctor may prescribe getting kidney function and liver function tests periodically to check your child's condition.
In most cases, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Using antibiotics to treat viral infections may instead lead to side effects without benefiting your child's health. Therefore, you must give antibiotics to your child only after consulting with your doctor.
Antibiotics kill the infection-causing bacteria but during this process, they may affect the good bacteria present in the gastrointestinal tract. As a result, your child might develop diarrhea or some other infections as well. Moreover, children have a more sensitive stomach than adults, so the likelihood of developing a stomach upset is higher. In case your child experiences diarrhea while on Cartum 125mg Tablet, do not stop the medication course. Instead, call your child’s doctor to discuss next steps.
The time it takes for Cartum 125mg Tablet to work depends on the type of infection and how your child responds to the medication. The antibiotic may start working immediately after consumption, but complete effectiveness takes a few days.
No, Cartum 125mg Tablet should not be taken on an empty stomach. It should be taken twice daily after a meal to increase absorption rate and enhance its effectiveness.
