Frequently asked questions
What is Canazole Lotion used for?
Canazole Lotion is an antifungal medication. It's used to treat fungal skin infections like ringworm (a rash caused by a fungal infection on different parts of the body), athlete's foot, and fungal diaper rash. It can also relieve irritation of the vulva (external thrush) and irritation at the end of the penis, which may be associated with thrush.
Canazole Lotion is effective against which fungi?
Canazole Lotion is effective against Trichophyton species, which cause ringworm infection, athlete's foot, and jock itch. It also works against the yeast known as Candida, commonly causing vaginal thrush (an overgrowth of yeast called Candida albicans).
I have started using Canazole Lotion. When can I expect to start seeing improvements?
The symptoms of skin infection, such as itching or soreness, should improve within a few days of treatment. However, the signs like redness and scaling may take longer to disappear. Do not stop applying this medicine before the duration advised by your doctor, even if you feel better.
What precautions are necessary while applying Canazole Lotion?
Always wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying Canazole Lotion. If using it for an infected foot, wash and dry your feet thoroughly before application, especially between the toes, before applying the cream. Canazole Lotion should be applied thinly and evenly with gentle rubbing onto the affected areas two or three times daily.
For how long should I apply Canazole Lotion? Can I stop if the symptoms have completely disappeared?
The duration of treatment depends on the type of infection. Generally, it's continued for 1 month for tinea infections and at least 15 days for Candida infections. Do not stop the treatment without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better, as the infection may return. It takes time to kill the fungus.
Is Canazole Lotion safe to use in children?
Canazole Lotion is only safe for children when given under a doctor's supervision and at the correct dosage. Minor side effects may occur, but they are typically not bothersome. However, if you experience severe reactions, including burning sensations, redness, or itching, stop using the medication and contact your doctor.
Are there any measures that should be taken to help a faster recovery?
Keep the affected skin areas clean and dry but avoid excessive rubbing. You may feel the urge to scratch due to itchiness, but avoid scratching, as it will damage the skin and can spread the infection further. Do not share towels or bath mats with other people.
Does Canazole Lotion affect contraception?
Canazole Lotion may decrease the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives such as diaphragms and condoms. If using it on your vulva or penis, you must use alternative methods of contraception for at least 5 days after application.
