Frequently asked questions
What is Calcobal OD 1500mcg Injection?
Calcobal OD 1500mcg Injection provides Vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required for the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also helps release energy from food and use vitamin B11 (folate).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is found naturally in meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Vegetarians and vegans may not consume enough Vitamin B12 because it isn't naturally present in fruits, vegetables, or grains. This can lead to a deficiency of vitamin B12.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
A lack of vitamin B12 can cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (when red blood cells become larger than normal). This condition may also result in nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include trouble with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and sore mouth or tongue.
Is Calcobal OD 1500mcg Injection safe?
Calcobal OD 1500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash may occur. If a rash develops, stop taking the medicine immediately.
How should Calcobal OD 1500mcg Injection be given?

The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Calcobal OD 1500mcg Injection) and is given three times per week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Calcobal OD 1500mcg Injection) is administered every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
