Suspension
Cadi O M Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Cadi O M Suspension is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Cadi O M Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Cadi O M Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
While an extra dose of Cadi O M Suspension will not have any side effects, you must always be vigilant. If you think you have given too much Cadi O M Suspension to your child, immediately contact a doctor. Overdose increases the risk of unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and rapid and irregular heartbeat. Seek immediate medical attention for your child if you notice any of these symptoms.
If your child does not show improvement despite taking Cadi O M Suspension as prescribed, it might indicate that the medication is not effective against the bacterial cause of their condition. In such a case, consult your child's doctor, who may prescribe a different antibiotic with specific action against the bacteria responsible for the infection.
Cadi O M Suspension may interact with other medications or substances. Before starting Cadi O M Suspension, inform your child's doctor about any other medicines they are currently taking. Additionally, always consult a doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or trigger a negative reaction in children who have recently received one. However, it's best to hold off on administering vaccinations until your child has recovered from their illness and is feeling better. Once they are fully recovered, vaccination can be scheduled as instructed by their doctor.
Inform the doctor if your child has pre-existing conditions such as heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (allergy from sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. These medical conditions could be exacerbated by Cadi O M Suspension and may lead to complications.
Yes, this is a common side effect associated with Cadi O M Suspension. This occurs because the active ingredient, metronidazole, causes red-brown discoloration of the urine. It is harmless and will subside once treatment is complete.
No, you should not give Cadi O M Suspension with cough and cold medications as they may interfere with their effectiveness.
