Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.

Frequently asked questions
Can I give cough and allergy medicines together if my child is experiencing a persistent cough along with allergic symptoms?
No. Combining cough and allergy medications may lead to double dosing of active ingredients, which could cause serious side effects. It's important to consult with your child’s doctor for the correct medication regimen.
Can I reduce the dose of Bronlast L Syrup without consulting my child's doctor?
No. Follow your child’s doctor's prescribed dosage exactly and do not adjust or change the dose yourself. Incorrect dosing can lead to unpredictable side effects, including unintended sedation, depression, and rebound symptoms.
How should Bronlast L Syrup be stored?
Store Bronlast L Syrup at room temperature away from direct sunlight or heat. Keep all medicines out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
Does Bronlast L Syrup cause drowsiness in children?
Bronlast L Syrup can cause mild drowsiness, which may make your child sleepy. However, this medicine is not meant for inducing sleep. If you notice excessive lethargy and trouble waking up, consult your doctor immediately.
Can I start taking Bronlast L Syrup before my child's upcoming sports event?
No. Please do not begin using Bronlast L Syrup without consulting your child’s doctor first. This medicine may cause mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness which can negatively impact their performance. Discuss the best course of action with your child’s healthcare professional.

No. It is essential to gradually discontinue Bronlast L Syrup under your child's doctor's guidance, not abruptly or without professional advice. Stopping suddenly can result in the return of symptoms and may worsen the underlying condition.
My child has a mood disorder. Is it safe to give them Bronlast L Syrup?
There is some evidence suggesting that Bronlast L Syrup might trigger or exacerbate mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and difficulty controlling body movement in children. Consulting your child’s doctor for proper guidance before administering any medication is crucial.
Can I use Bronlast L Syrup to treat an acute asthma attack?
Bronlast L Syrup is primarily used as a preventative measure against asthma attacks. It should not be used during an acute attack as it requires separate, fast-acting relief medication like reliever medicine.
