How it works
Broncomax L Syrup is a combination of four medicines. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens airways. Ambroxol is a mucolytic medication. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) in the nose, windpipe and lungs making it easier to cough out and breathing. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and further helps in its removal from the airways. Menthol is an extract from peppermint that produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.
Quick Tips
You have been prescribed Broncomax L Syrup for the treatment of asthma. It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Always keep a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you. If at any time your breathing gets worse please contact your doctor or nurse for advice straightaway. Inform your doctor if you have heart problems, high blood pressure or diabetes. Do not smoke. Smoking causes irritation and damage to the lungs and will make your condition worse. Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor. This is so your doctor can review your condition on a regular basis.
