Introduction
Bre Mox Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments. It contains two active agents, amoxycillin and clavulanic acid, which work together to inhibit bacterial growth and resistance. It is important to complete the entire course of antibiotics to prevent the bacteria from multiplying again or becoming resistant.
Directions for Use
Use Bre Mox Dry Syrup as prescribed by your doctor. Ensure your child completes the entire course of antibiotics. Do not use it to treat viral infections like the common cold or flu.
How it works
Bre Mox Dry Syrup contains amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin prevents the formation of the bacterial cell wall, essential for bacterial survival. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase, an enzyme produced by resistant bacteria, making the combination effective against many infections.
Quick Tips
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection. Your child may have a bitter taste in the mouth after the intake of Bre Mox Dry Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Bre Mox Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. You must also never share your child’s medicine with anyone else even if they show similar symptoms. Do not give Bre Mox Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Never save medicine for future illnesses. It cannot be said whether the same medicine will work on future infections. Check ‘expiry’ before giving Bre Mox Dry Syrup to your child. Immediately discard all the expired medicines. Stop Bre Mox Dry Syrup immediately if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty. Report to the doctor without any delay.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Bre Mox Dry Syrup?
Bre Mox Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. It's essential to inform your child's doctor about any other medications they are taking before starting Bre Mox Dry Syrup. Additionally, consult with their doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Bre Mox Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics like Bre Mox Dry Syrup usually do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, it's recommended to wait until your child has recovered from the illness before getting vaccinated.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Bre Mox Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
To monitor kidney and liver function during prolonged therapy with Bre Mox Dry Syrup, your child's doctor may periodically perform certain laboratory tests to ensure their condition is being closely monitored.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Bre Mox Dry Syrup to my child?
No, administering a higher dose of Bre Mox Dry Syrup can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences increased symptoms severity, consult with their doctor for re-evaluation and guidance.
Can I stop giving Bre Mox Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue giving this medication unless your child has completed the full treatment course. The symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured. Continue administering the medicine for the recommended duration as it may still provide beneficial effects.
Can the use of Bre Mox Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Bre Mox Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea due to its antibiotic action on harmful bacteria and potentially affecting helpful bacteria in your child's stomach. In case of diarrhea, encourage your child to drink plenty of water or other fluids. If diarrhea persists and signs of dehydration occur, consult with their doctor.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Mostly, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Giving antibiotics during a viral infection can increase the risk of side effects. Use antibiotics only after consulting with your child's doctor to ensure they are necessary.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate that antibiotics are needed. During a common cold, thickened mucus can turn yellow or green, and symptoms often last for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
You must call your child's doctor right away if they experience serious allergic reactions (breathing problems, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), and liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). These side effects are rare but serious and require prompt medical attention.
